The documentary “Dub Echoes” shows how the Jamaican invention called dub ended up influencing much of the music we hear today, from electronic music to hip-hop, transforming the studio in a musical instrument and giving way to all of sonic experiments.
Dub Echoes is a documentary by Brazilian Bruno Natal, which brings us Dub music history from its beginnings in Jamaica in the 60s to the present. Through it we can see and hear how this style was evolving and being part of different musical genres that now roam clubs, discos and mp3s. Reggae, drum n 'bass, hip hop and electronic music influences dub show, with interviews with renowned musicians of the item as Lee' Scratch 'Perry, Mad Professor, Bill Laswell, Mario Caldato Jr, Howie B, Adam Freeland , DJ Spooky, 2 Many DJs and Thievery Corporation and many others. All agree on one thing: the dub is the electronic sound of past, present, and future, here's a sample of it.
